Adirondack Museum Collection (2016)
Rebecca's latest complete body of work, Boreal Relationships, is now home in the Adirondacks, a six-million-acre park in northern New York forever protected as a forest preserve. All seven original watercolors are part of the permanent collection at the Adirondack Museum. With Blue Mountain rising behind it and Blue Mountain Lake sparkling below, the Adirondack Museum's 121-acre campus features displays in 24 buildings and 40,000 square feet of exhibitions. One of America's finest outdoor museums, it's been called "the best of its kind in the world" by the New York Times.
Sea of Cortez Artist Expedition (2011)
To generate a collective body work, Rebecca was one of 30 artists invited by wildlife art curator, Dr. David J. Wagner, to participate in an expedition to San Carlos, Mexico located on the mainland shore of the Sea of Cortez. Leading the tour was Dr. Wagner and Richard C. Brusca, PhD, former senior director of conservation & science and director of ASDM Press at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. The resulting body of work was exhibited at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson and also at The Wildlife Experience Museum near Denver, CO.
Susan K. Black Foundation Scholarship Award (2010)
Awarded for attendance at the 9th Annual Workshop/Art Conference at the Headwaters Arts & Conference Center in Dubois, WY.
Pilgrim in Preservation Award (2009)
"The 2009 Pilgrim Award goes to Rebecca Richman. This inspiring watercolor artist has devoted her life to using her creative paintings to teach people about the sacred inter-species partnerships found in all intact ecosystems, and the beauty of these relationships that can be seen even better with the heart than the eye. Early in her career, Rebecca made an incredibly generous commitment to the Arc of Appalachia Preserve System: to paint four original watercolor images and then create limited edition prints - one for each season. Four years and hundreds of hours later, her commitment was fulfilled. Tonight we honor her work and art; and bequeath her with this year's Pilgrim in Preservation Award."
~Nancy Stranahan, Arc of Appalachia Director
Colorado Gold (2009)
Colorado Gold 2009 featured fifty-three works of art by thirty-five noted artists living and working in Colorado at The Wildlife Experience Museum. The unique blend of interactive exhibits, large format film, fine art, natural history and community educational programs was unrivaled and provided the museum an opportunity to present information about wildlife and ecosystems from around the world.
